Practical Photography - February Assignment
02nd January 2012
Practical Photography magazine are running a feature setting monthly assignments for their readers. The assignment in the February 2012 edition is "The Elements", with the aim of taking a photograph which portrays the weather. The weather on the 2nd January was bright, dry, blue skies and windy - so wind it was!
I took this photo of the reeds on the Paull nature reserve mud flats. I set the camera with a small aperture (f22) to get a slow shutter speed (0.6sec) to capture the movement of the reeds. Shame there wasn't a few more clouds in the sky - this would have allowed me to capture some movement in the sky.
A bit cliché I know, but I think it meets the intent of the assignment and so I'll send it in. You never know, it may get published! Having a photograph published must be one of my aims in developing my photography.
